After almost 12 months of delicate renovations, the iconic Forum Melbourne (part of the Marriner Group) has been transformed and its original heritage beauty carefully preserved. The stunning changes are evident from the first step inside the historic venue, where the entrance foyer carpet has been removed, to reveal 200,000 gorgeous mosaic tiles and polished marble stairs.
The Forum renovation is 21 years in the making. Having lived and experienced the space for a long time, when it came to undertake the work we knew exactly what we wanted to achieve. Now complete, we’re thrilled with the outcome, and very pleased to offer a space to our patrons and guests as a first class, highly functional venue” says Jason Marriner, CEO and Co-Owner, Marriner Group.
Now with three new architecturally designed bars, 14 bespoke booths and brand new polished hardwood floors throughout, the Forum’s new look is a reinvestment in its continuing future as one of Melbourne’s absolute best event venues for everything from major live music performances through to dinners, cocktail events and small through to large custom events.
The unique space has been redesigned to allow for room reveals as events progress, making the most of the renovation’s many talking points.
The cutting-edge designed features include hydraulic adjustable-height flooring at the rear, in place of the rear bench rows, to accommodate the needs of the many and varied events that the Forum Melbourne hosts each year. The new elevator that can accommodate cars into the venue allows even more scope for impressive events tailored to the Forum’s broad scope of clients.

Artists have been accommodated for also, with the renovation of green rooms and state-of-the-art stage lighting, sound and front of house rigging. These new features will be enjoyed by performers and audiences alike, ensuring the Forum stays at the forefront of live events in Melbourne.
For the first time the Marriner Group’s bespoke catering services are now offered at the Forum, providing innovative catering solutions that exceed Melbourne’s high expectations of food and drink. The new purpose-built production kitchen with the venue will house the Forum’s team of dedicated chefs, who will consults with clients to create bespoke menus specifically designed to make each event memorable.
Â
We engaged a leading architect to help design the kitchen. We installed state-of-the-art equipment. And my team are some of the most talented, created and passionate chefs I’ve had the pleasure to work with in my 20 years as a chef” says David Ricardo, Executive Chef for The Marriner Group.
The redesigned Forum Melbourne can accommodate 250-550 for dinner, 400-1500 for cocktail events, and up to 800 for presentations. The venue has been nominated for numerous awards and accolades, including for Best Venue (over 500 capacity) in The Age Music Victoria Awards over multiple years.
